Let's Make Patty Melts

Ingredients:
1/2-1 lb. Ground beef
1 medium onion
4 slices of bread
4 slices of American cheese
1 stick of butter
Salt, pepper & garlic powder


Dice the onion.



Melt 1/2 a stick of butter in skillet.



Sautee the onion until it becomes translucent.


Remove from skillet and set aside.



In the same skillet cook the hamburger patties until done.

Drain on paper towel.


Melt some butter on the griddle. I do it like this.



Lightly toast the bread on one side.


And then the other side.

Place the patties on each piece of toast.


Then place two slices of cheese on top.


Spoon the cooked onions on top of the cheese.


Place the other piece of toast on top and cook, turning once until cheese is melted.

Serve with french fries or coleslaw if you like.
