Backyard weekend fun!

Do you want to have a wonderful, relaxing weekend at your own home?  No packing, no driving, no spending, no worries?

Well, have a beach day (or two)  in your own backyard. Let your imagination go, and pretend (don't be afraid) you're on a weekend trip of relaxation, listening to your favorite music and taking in some rays!  You and your mate just put on your bathing suits, grab the beach towels or a blanket, turn on the CD player, turn off the phones, make a couple of drinks and have a picnic in your own backyard.  No pool?  No problem.  Just turn on the sprinkler and cool yourselves off. You'll see, it will be a  blast!  I highly recommend it.  When you get hungry, order something to be delivered, no cooking please!

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!!!!

Just do it!

I Wish You Love and a Great Weekend!

The Butter Dish

It wasn't the butter dish that slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor breaking into a hundred pieces, that I feel bad about.  It was not that it was beautiful and lasted a lifetime from kitchen to kitchen without a scratch.   It's the memory of all the other hands that touched it down through the years, that made me cry.  I mean,  I am not crying over the butter dish.  I am crying because I no longer have it to look at.  Every time I looked at it sitting on my table, good memories just flowed gently through my mind.  Every time I touched it, and washed it, and put a new stick of butter in it,  I was back in my
grandmother's kitchen, watching her cook dinner on Sunday, or running through the kitched while my mother made breakfast for a house full of family and friends.  I would think of all the wonderful people in my life down through the years who had touched it with their kind,  loving,  hardworking fingers.   From one womans beautiful hands to another, it was handed down to me.

It's not about the butter dish,  it is  what it represents.  It represented a part of my life and the people who were in it.  It is not the object, it is what you see in the object. Who sat in a certain chair in the living room, who ate at that dining room table, and who you lived with and loved in that home. At least that's how it is for me.

My butter dish is gone forever............but I still have the memories, thank goodness for that.

Besides, I think my mom has another I might be able to talk her out of..............

Sunrise on a Sunday morning.........

It was still dark last Sunday morning when I stumbled out of bed and made my way to the kitchen to make coffee. The shadow of the palm tree coming through my living room window as the sun was rising was awesome.......

I was thankful for the pretty picture I was looking at, I was thankful for the smell of the coffee brewing, and I was thankful for the day ahead........

It was a wonderful feeling of tranquility and contentment........

Life is good.........

Give me my red shoes, I want to dance

Put on the red shoes that you want to.
Put on the red shoes that you like.
Put on the red shoes that you've never worn before.

I Wish You Love,

17 in the 70's

Just in case you are wondering who this girl is, it's me!!!! Seventeen and graduating High School. Oh, I was so innocent, naive, untainted, & untouched. As we have heard a hundred times, "If I Only Knew Then, What I Know Now". But guess what, I don't think I would change anything because it made me who I am today, and I think that goes for most people.

The only thing I regret is that time just seems to have gone by so fast, and nowadays even faster!!! Being on this earth for half a century, wow, sounds like a really long time, doesn't it? Well, it has been a long road traveled, and guess what, that gives me the right to do what I feel like doing, when I feel like doing it, and however I feel like doing it. So there, take that, and don't mess with me!!!!!!

Have a wonderful day, and remember life is what you make it!!!!
Smile and the world smiles with you!!!
I Wish You Love and Happy Days To Remember,
Joyce
