I love going to the veggie stand.....

I feel lucky to have fresh vegetables and fruits right down the street from home.  I always get excited when I go, which I do about three times a week. It's located on a field where they grow the tomatoes and it just makes me feel good being there, like I'm closer to the earth or whatev:)  Anyway,  I usually stop by before I go to the grocery store and get what I need because everything is fresh and a you can't beat the prices.   The prices are the best in town, about 50 cents a pound.

This is what they had last Wednesday.  The strawberries are ready for picking, so when we drove by the fields on Saturday,  people where there picking their own, which is a lot of fun.

This is what was available last Wednesday.

My Secret Sunset

I walk every evening and there's a place where I go on my way home to see the sunset.  I love watching the sunset and capturing it with my camera.  It's was so beautiful tonight.  As I wondered if it could get any better, I felt a few rain drops, just enought to cool me off, then it stopped.  How wonderful was that I thought........Life is good!!!!!

Makes you feel good inside, when you see something as magnificient as this.

We saw this rainbow before our walk this evening.....

Every evening at seven we meet at my daughter-in-law's house and walk for about an hour.  We go around the block four times and sometimes five.  It's three miles, and about an hour walk.  While we are walking, we talk about how our day went,  which makes it fun.  A lot of times we vent too. Venting really makes you feel better, a long with the walk, it's a good way to end the day and we always feel really good afterwards.  We saw this beautiful rainbow right as we started our walk this evening.

We really feel better since we started walking.  I highly recommend it.  I really like the venting too, helps with the stress level.

The Butter Dish

It wasn't the butter dish that slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor breaking into a hundred pieces, that I feel bad about.  It was not that it was beautiful and lasted a lifetime from kitchen to kitchen without a scratch.   It's the memory of all the other hands that touched it down through the years, that made me cry.  I mean,  I am not crying over the butter dish.  I am crying because I no longer have it to look at.  Every time I looked at it sitting on my table, good memories just flowed gently through my mind.  Every time I touched it, and washed it, and put a new stick of butter in it,  I was back in my
grandmother's kitchen, watching her cook dinner on Sunday, or running through the kitched while my mother made breakfast for a house full of family and friends.  I would think of all the wonderful people in my life down through the years who had touched it with their kind,  loving,  hardworking fingers.   From one womans beautiful hands to another, it was handed down to me.

It's not about the butter dish,  it is  what it represents.  It represented a part of my life and the people who were in it.  It is not the object, it is what you see in the object. Who sat in a certain chair in the living room, who ate at that dining room table, and who you lived with and loved in that home. At least that's how it is for me.

My butter dish is gone forever............but I still have the memories, thank goodness for that.

Besides, I think my mom has another I might be able to talk her out of..............

Sunrise on a Sunday morning.........

It was still dark last Sunday morning when I stumbled out of bed and made my way to the kitchen to make coffee. The shadow of the palm tree coming through my living room window as the sun was rising was awesome.......

I was thankful for the pretty picture I was looking at, I was thankful for the smell of the coffee brewing, and I was thankful for the day ahead........

It was a wonderful feeling of tranquility and contentment........

Life is good.........

Give me my red shoes, I want to dance

Put on the red shoes that you want to.
Put on the red shoes that you like.
Put on the red shoes that you've never worn before.

I Love the Thunder, Lightning and the September Showers

September In The Rain

by

Frank Sinatra

The leaves of brown came tumbling down,
remember in September in the rain
The Sun went out just like a dying amber,
that September in the rain
To every word of love I heard you whisper,
The raindrops seemed to play our sweet refrain
Though spring is here to me it's still September,
that September in the rain
To every word of love I heard you whisper
The raindrops seemed to play our sweet refrain
Though spring is here to me it is still September,
that September in the rain
That September that brought the pain,
that September in the rain

Homework @#$%^&*)

The middle one does his homework everyday without a word. He just does it! He is a wonderful boy!!!

Youngest would rather be playing and complains, says she doesn't want to do it, drops her pencil on the floor like 15 times and takes soooo long to pick it back up again!!!! But after talking to her she did it and very well I might add.

Oldest does her's and helps the others, no problem!

So I had a little talk with youngest about how she needs an education and needs to fill her brain with information everyday in order to be a smart grown up, and to be successful in life. With little tears in her eyes she said "Okay, Mimi." Then my eyes filled with tears too. She then ran off to play and I thought what a joy they bring to my life!!!!!!!!!
